funny stuff gets 1.2 million searches monthly. funny jokes is also 1.2 milliion, but joke is a strong keyword in its own right as well (8million PCM). funny animals is 600k PCM. Interestingly the biggest 'Funny" search is funny videos, 4 million, followed by funny quotes at 1.5 million.

this concept formed because the "things not to do on a date" actually isnt getting any traffic on the love site. . . so i thought about "things to do" as a stand alone site. Very very very easy to write funny things to do on a bus, in a plane, at a wedding, at a funeral. . etc. Very easy.

but "funny things to do" only get 27k searches a month. . which isnt enough to sustain a site. and Funny Things being 360K is still too small to build a site around. Even "creative writing" gets 450k. . .

im trying to find good keyword rich names for a new website. . .

but really. . . things is probably not very good. Only 380k searches for "funny things" per month. the word Funny gets 68 million. lol. So i think i need a second word that is better than things. . .

Im all about love. Love is the best thing ever, but you cant love when you are depressed, and if I get depressed (as i often do when i dont get enough sleep or when i let my guard down), then im no use to anyone. And I guarentee that she wont feel any better knowing that she has bought me down.

of course it upsets me when a friend is upset. . . but i just cant let another person drag me down. I MUST make sure that i keep focused and uplifted. I just crumble when i get unstable mentally. I have to look after myself, and everyone else needs to look after themselves too.

Its a shame, cause she and i were kinda hooked up for a little bit before we had a fallign out. I just dont have the strength to try and make her feel better though. I cant cut into my own life any further, even to try and help her. I jsut dont have enough left to give.

My friend "rebecca" is upset. A boyfriend would solve all of her problems. It sounds terrible, but some people NEED a partner, and simply cant function properly without one. She is on anti depressants and everything. . but 80% of the time, having a partner would make antidepressants unessecary.

I havent seemed to get any work done with regards to working out the template stuff. . but i will just have to have a try at a diferent format once i get home. There is an archive template called brewkies that i think i can do somthing with probably.

to be fair, most of the work we get here is people who have genuine greivances. . . but probably 15-20% of the calls we get are just people being complete numbskulls, and making problems out of nothing.

I just documented a comlpaint for a tax agent as follows:

"I do some charity work for unemployed people, and i want to lodge a complaint because i think the tax office should pay me $176 per hour for that, because thats what i usually charge"

I think he is a bit confused about what "charity" means. . .

There is no queue for the inbound calls, so when people ring they get straight through to us. This is abnormal; they usually have to wait for 10-15 minutes. So the last call that I received, I, being fully aware of this, waited for 2 minutes while there was no response on the line. The kicker was when I said 'I've had no response so I'm going to need to release the call', because that was when I hear this shriek (apparently I'm on speaker phone) and the sound of footsteps running back, and a breathless 'nonono!' Obviously the woman called us, expected to wait for ages and just left the room for a bit. I laughed. She laughed too.

got an email from Rachel in tasmania too which is cool. We had a bit of a falling out a while back, but now it seems to be comlpetely forgotten, which is awesome. She is a bit of a sweetheart, and i get bored without her to chat to.

i usually cant email one of my raelly good friends Tyler dring the day, cause he is often too busy to reply. Today his workload is slow too, so ive been able to send him a few emails and have had him send some back too. He is cool.

ncie and quiet here at work at the moment. Pretty cool. i hope it continues for the rest of the day :-) Im enjoying just chilling out, thinking about the future, posting some blog updates, and emailing some friends.

my mum is probably working NYE. She is a nurse, and as im sure you all understand, thats a pretty busy night for nurses. . .

I might check though, cause if not i would be happy to spend NYE with my family.

actually my brothers girlfriends place would be even better this year, cause they cut down some trees, so there would be an even better view of the fireworks this time. .

My new years last year was amazing, we made pizzas and drank beer and sat on a deck and watched the fireworks down at the waterfront from atop a hill. Was good fun.

my brother had a christmas party at his house last year, which was pretty cool. So maybe i will see if he is doing somthing like that again this year.

my attention has turned to new years.

Helens best friend's boyfriend invited me to a party at his place in the city. . but since helens best friend is likely about to dump him. . . i suspect that that particular invite shall not be of much use to me. ..

Apparently wasabi cheese is good with quince paste. You can get it pretty much anywhere in Tas im told, they make it at one of the cheese places here, Ashgrove I think its called. It pretty much is one of the best things ever, however I still maintain that chocolate is the single most amazing thing ever invented.

im in vegas this May for my cousins 30th. . . so that should be a fun time. Not sure how long im going for yet. Maybe a fortnight. Maybe a month. Not sure. Depends a bit on how well my poker and website stuff progresses. . . if it does really well then i can obviously travel longer. should probably start planning that sort of stuff. .

I might try to organise a night out at the movies with some friends. There are actually quite a few cool looking movies out at the moment. . which is refreshing since there were only lame ones out for the last while. . .

I made a new years resolution to go out at least once a week, even if its just to dinner or to see a movie.

Last year I often got distracted by work/websites/ poker and didnt get to socialize very much. SO i want to avoid that this year.

I think that i will try to get all my website stuff done wednsday night (by like midninght or 1am) and that way i can still put in a huge poekr session with Jesse on thursday. that will work out pretty well i think.

wow the guy who went to sweet love quotes actually spent like 15 minutes on the site and went to 9 different pages! thats pretty sweet.

I will try and go through and cross link all the pages that are in the "background" like that one. Will probably link my quotes page to all the other Blah Quotes pages, and visa versa. just so that i can lead people to the main quote page.

wow, i just noticed that one of the google hits i got yesterday was to the page "Sweet Love Quotes". . . which i dont even have on my main page. . you can only get their through the search function at the moment.

The sitemap picked it up for google obviously. . . which is extremely cool :-)

i think im going to change the advertising on my poker site too. I will add the party poker banner to the bottom of the page i think. ive got an amazon banner there at the moment. . and its not really doing anything.

still only getting about 1 google hit a day on the poker site though. . .

which is a fair indication that it is set up horifficly for search engine optimization. I should probably even make a new website. Ashton Poker or somthing like that. . . also fixing up the titles would be an excellent start.

I dunno. Im loathe to change sites, because its already set up and getting some traffic. . . plus. . i dont really want to get a new site going.

www.ashtoncartwright.com was really good too. got 200 visitors, the majority of which were still from stumbleupon, and were still for the Set Mining article. Very interesting. Im not sure exactly how stumble works. . but if i did im sure that i could set my site up in such a was that I could get even more traffic through them.

yesterday i got about 60 visits to the relationship site, which is pretty solid. . but the BEST part of that was that 7 of them were organic hits from google! So cool! thats more google hits than ive ever had before, and it leads me to belive that its set up moderately well, with good keywords.

oh yeah! I got the photos back from the christmas party!

the GOOD thing about this particular template is that i was easilly able to set it to open in its own page, rather than just as a sidebar widget. There is probably a way to do that with the other ones too. . . but i havent really tried to be honest. ..

oh yeah, the otehr problem with it is half of the features dont seem to work. lol. There were all these cool options for it and stuff. . but they dont do anything at all. lol.

In completely unrelated news: Only another 2 hours, then i can go to the gym, them home, food, and do some website work. Still trying to get an article archive hooked up.

obviously if i was married with kids it would be a bit harder to quit. You need even MORE security then. . not to mention more money :-)

i think that once i get about 3500 people per day on the relationship site i should be right to quit my day job. . . but at the moment im only getting about 50 people per day. Not enough.

if i was making say, $300 per week from websites, i would probably be able to quit. Actually i could definitely quit, because making 400 per week from poker is pretty straight forward. .

but at the moment im making about $20 per week :-P

As i see it, the issue is this:

If i get $500 form my normal job, then i need at least $700 from poker. . because some weeks you might make NO money from poker, or even lose money. . and so you need to make more each week to make up for that.

I would need to make like $700 per week from poker if i quit.

im not certain that i could do that. I probably could. But not certain.

tell you one thing though:

Im reading a very interesting article on free speach and censorship in the 1960's by Ayn Rand. She was such an impressive philosopher. Very very interesting. ive really enjoyed everything of hers that ive read. Its very condusive to thinking.

ok, so the poker tournament that my mate is playing for me starts in about 20 minutes.

I won it with a gold ship satalite last week, but because it was only for this monday i cant play in it unfortunately. If rhys wins money we are gonig to split it 50/50 though.

oh yeah! I got another 1000+ visitors on my poker site yesterday! thats 2 days in a row! pretty happy with that! I hope it keeps going that well.

I was discussing with Tyler what other websites I would consider setting up, if i didnt do the love and relationships one.. .

I would have considered a humour/comedy/funny/giggles type site, with jokes, funny lists, that sort of stuff. Not so much because i believe it to be hugely profitable, but just because when to get people to a site like that, they are very likely to check out the other articles too, and once you have them looking at multiple articles, its easy to get them returning to the site, and its therefore easy to get them to click on advertising, since good advertising looks like more articles :-). It would also be a subject that would encourage people to "link to this" on facebook and their own blogs and stuff like that.

Im glad, cause he is one of the few relatives whos opinion i actually care about. He is a very bright guy. he is also in really good shape, which i find to be a moderately usefull indication that someones life is in control.

Only 35 visitors at the relationship site yesterday. could everybody Stumble another page if you get the chance? I think there are still about 70-80 pages to stumble, so ive been doing 1 a day.

I figure it wont look good if i jsut stumble them all myself. . .

Ive decided that im going to start lifting weights again.

My chest isnt as strong or as volumious as it used to be, so i want to build my pecs a bit, and my biceps too.

my abs are still sweet, and my shoulders are pretty good from the kickboxing. . but the other bits could definitiely use a few kgs of lean muscle mass.

i might have mentioned that im gonna put together an intoduction to astrology type page for my site, and link in the 12 article I wrote for the star signs. Should be able to generate some quantity of interest from that.

I had a fiddle with the Title coding, so now the title displays as the page title only, rather than "Love Quotes - How To Love Your Relationship". I think its better that way, because adding the entire site name just makes any page title look sloppy. Only issue im encountering is I cant work out how to have How To Love Your Relationship come up as a title on the home page. . . It just comes up with the URL. Bit fiddly. . But I will work it out.

www.how-to-love-your-relationship.com is the site. Ive only really set it up this week, but ive been writing stuff for it for the last month. there are over 100 articles there. its pretty cool. Its all about love and relationships (no suprises) and about how you can increase the love in your life.
